HONEY TAJIN CHICKEN WINGS

Honey Tajin Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings

  • 1/3 cup honey

  • 2 tablespoons Tajín seasoning

  • 1/4 cup lime juice

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 1/3 cup chopped cilantro

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

  • 2 teaspoons Accent flavor enhancer

  • Oil for frying

Cooking Instructions

SERVES 2-4

1. Preheat a deep fryer or a large skillet with enough oil to fully submerge the wings to 350°F.

2. Place the chicken wings in a large bowl. Add salt, pepper, and Accent flavor enhancer. Massage the seasoning into the chicken to ensure it’s evenly coated. If you’d like, you can add extra pepper at this stage.

3. Sprinkle the baking soda over the chicken wings. Massage it in thoroughly, making sure it is evenly distributed across all the wings.

4. Fry the wings in the preheated oil for 10-12 minutes, or until they are crispy, golden brown, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove the wings and drain excess oil on paper towels.

5. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, 1 tablespoon of Tajín, and lime juice. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a gentle simmer.

6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and slowly add the butter, a little at a time, stirring constantly until the butter is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and emulsified.

7. Transfer the fried wings to a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss until evenly coated. Add 1/2 tablespoon of the remaining Tajín and toss again. Then, add half of the reserved cilantro and toss one more time.

8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 tablespoon of Tajín and the rest of the cilantro over the wings as a garnish.

TIP

Serve the wings hot and enjoy their bold, zesty flavors! Pair them with your favorite dipping sauce—I personally recommend ranch.
